Horse Layover Liability Waiver & Release of Liability

By booking, entering, or using the facilities at Summit Ridge Ranch, all guests, participants, owners, handlers, riders, and visitors acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

The undersigned understands and acknowledges that equine activities involve inherent risks which may result in serious injury, illness, property damage, or death to persons and animals.

These risks include, but are not limited to:

• The unpredictable behavior of horses and livestock

• Biting, kicking, bucking, rearing, trampling, or sudden movement

• Equipment failure or tack failure

• Uneven terrain, holes, mud, gravel, gates, fencing, and natural hazards

• Exposure to weather, insects, wildlife, and ranch conditions

• Actions or negligence of other guests, horses, or participants

The undersigned voluntarily assumes all risks associated with entering or using the property and facilities of Summit Ridge Ranch.

2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In consideration for being permitted to use the facilities and property of Summit Ridge Ranch, the undersigned agrees to release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless:

• Summit Ridge Ranch

• Summit Ridge Performance Horses

• Property owners

• Employees

• Family members

• Volunteers

• Representatives

• Agents

from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, injuries, or expenses arising from or related to:

• Personal injury

• Death

• Horse injury or death

• Theft

• Property damage

• Trailer or vehicle damage

• Loss of use

• Accidents occurring on the property

whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted under Oklahoma law.

3. HORSE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

All horses entering Summit Ridge Ranch property must:

• Have a current negative Coggins test

• Have a valid health certificate dated within 30 days of arrival

• Be free from contagious or infectious disease

Owners certify that any horse brought onto the property is healthy and safe to be around other horses and livestock.

Summit Ridge Ranch reserves the right to refuse entry or require immediate removal of any horse showing signs of illness, aggression, unsafe behavior, or poor condition.

4. RESPONSIBILITY FOR HORSES & PROPERTY

Horse owners and guests are fully responsible for:

• The behavior and supervision of their horses

• Any injuries or damages caused by their horses

• Damage caused by vehicles, trailers, equipment, pets, or guests

• Proper securing of horses at tie areas

• Cleaning excessive manure, hay, trash, or debris

Guests agree to use facilities responsibly and safely.

5. EMERGENCY VETERINARY CARE

If emergency veterinary care becomes necessary and the owner cannot be reached, Summit Ridge Ranch may attempt to obtain veterinary assistance at the owner’s expense.

The horse owner accepts full financial responsibility for any veterinary, medical, transportation, or emergency expenses incurred.

6. SECURITY CAMERAS

For the safety and security of guests, horses, and property, portions of Summit Ridge Ranch are monitored by video surveillance cameras in common and outdoor areas.

By entering the property, guests consent to such monitoring.

7. GUEST ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By booking a stay, entering the property, or using Summit Ridge Ranch facilities, the undersigned acknowledges that they:

• Have read and understand this waiver

• Understand the inherent risks associated with horses and ranch property

• Voluntarily assume those risks

• Agree to abide by all Summit Ridge Ranch rules and policies

• Agree that this waiver is binding upon themselves, their family members, heirs, assigns, and representatives

OKLAHOMA EQUINE ACTIVITY LIABILITY WARNING

WARNING

Under Oklahoma law, an equine professional is not liable for injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities pursuant to the Oklahoma Livestock Activities Liability Limitation Act.
